Chuck and I were so blessed by our daughter Jessica’s blog for Valentine’s Day we decided to share it. After 32 years in the ministry, working and raising children I am so blessed to have first my relationship with my heavenly Father and then my relationship with Chuck. Through that relationship, and our love together we have been able,by the grace of God to raise two awesome children, that is the perfect Valentine's gift!
I once had this vision as a young teen that my “perfect man” would bust through the door one day, and just like the magic in the movies he would be everything I ever dreamed. My heart would open and ready to fall into his arms, and we would live happily ever after… But as I have grown, I have found that life doesn’t always happen like we dream, its better. And as I have watched my parents whose marriage has lasted 32 years, I have learned that joy is not found in happily ever after, but in the true endurance of love. I have seen them as they have journeyed through countless battles. I have watched my father hold my mother, and vice versa. I have learned that love is truly patient and really does endure all things, and most of all that love is worth waiting on. I remember as a child my parents and I were walking on the road when a man threatened our lives, my father immediately pushed my mother and I out of the way. As, I look back on that story I think of it as a representation of God’s love towards us, he pushed us out of the way of death, and into eternal life. He became sin, who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. So here is to all of you who haven’t met the man, your number 2, that God is preparing for you-it’s worth the wait. I’m not saying to not take showers so men aren’t attracted to you so you can meet the guy you are supposed to at the appointed time. What I am saying is that when you look around and maybe you don’t see what you’re looking for, God is looking right at him saying, “You just wait, cause’ he is good lookin’!” Haha! I’m just kidding! (sorta ;) But I do believe that we just have to remember that just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean God isn’t in it. So here is to all the ladies, you’re number two is coming!! Just keep your focus on the One.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
