We are excited by, The Blessed Life, that Pastor Craig is bringing to us for the next three weeks. Join us as we learn not to have a ,"bag, “mentality and to experience all the blessings that come with a heart of giving.
As you look at all the commercialism that this season is surrounded by, it is important that we look at the reason for Christmas. That Christ wrapped himself in human form and surrounded himself with human kind in order that we could have his gift of eternal life. It is not rushing lines and crowded stores, but it is the rush of knowing the eternal and only true Savior Jesus.
Simplify your Christmas by giving to others, rather than to those who have more than enough. This Christmas at church we have,"Coins for Kids, " and the Children's Shelter. We are hoping to purchase a herd of goats through World Vision and to give much needed supplies to those who have been abused.
I am blessed by the giving spirit of our children in the church. How one small child collected enough at Thanksgiving to purchase a goat and how other children have brought bags of money to purchase others. How another won a Toys R Us gift card, and chose not to buy more for himself, but toys for those in need. I pray that we might follow their example and lead lives that are full of giving this season, not to those with everything, but to those with nothing.
Speaking of gifts, what about your talent? Share what Christ has given you here at H2O, we have needs in the area of children, infants, host teams, life groups and many other areas! Whatever your talent we need you to serve at H2O!
What is happening at the church this December:
Dec. 12th Gifts for the King-Mexican food, bring a dish to share-6pm
Dec. 24th -Christmas Eve service--this will be the Life Church Movie and Communion-5:30-6:30
Dec. 27th-last of the series-The Blessed Life
Dec. 31st-Youth meet at the church at 8 pm to go to the Miller's home in Healton-return to the church at 10 am Jan. 1, 2010
Sunday Jan. 3rd begins the Invasion Series
