STANDING ON THE WORD OF GOD

posted by H2O PERRY CAMPUS at  17:28 ||

Earlier this week, Quinn suggested that we bury a Bible in the water line trench that runs parallel to the HeBrews countertop.  The purpose - we or whoever stands there would always be walking/standing on the Word of God.  I thought it was an awesome idea.  So, Quinn, Becky, An, Spencer, Treynor, Tina, Bree, and I performed the "ceremony" yesterday.  It turns out that no one had ever buried a Bible before, so that made me feel better as I had certainly never buried one!

We prayed and praised God for His continued work at H2O in Perry.  We opened the Bible to Hebrews 11:1 - 12:1 - Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see - and each person took a turn reverently covering the Bible.  May we always be reminded that God is at work in our lives, and ...

JULY 12, 2009 - BUILDING UPDATE

posted by H2O PERRY CAMPUS at  18:18 ||

It's been a busy 3 days at the H2O Perry facility.  Since Friday, we have had many friends, family, and volunteers from the H2O Ardmore/Ada campuses assist us in moving closer to phase one completion - the HeBrews Coffeehouse.  More than anything, I am so amazed (even though I shouldn't be!) about God's timing and provisions.  It seems each time we need a new boost of energy or help, God provides.

For example, after working in the hot facility all day Friday, Pat & Kali called me to offer tons of Gatorade for Saturday.  What a blessing!  When we needed additional help with construction and electrical work in the facility, Steve and Rhett from Ardmore and Rick from Ada came up to share their amazing gifts with us on Friday and Saturday.  It was a true blessing to say the least.  When we needed food, mudders, or brick scrubbers the ...

JULY 9, 2009

Ok, I have to admit that I am getting tired of concrete!  We have been diligently carrying, mixing, spreading, and staring at concrete the past 2 days.  In fact, we have poured over 1600 pounds of concrete into the sewer trenches and incoming water line.  We still have about 10 more bags to go (next week), but finished everything in preparation for the arrival of the Ardmore team tomorrow and Saturday.  What an awesome team and Kingdom heart!

Below are some pictures of concrete if you are interested!

One new line into the building!  All others cut off...

Sewer trenches covered and ready for separating wall.

Spencer did a lot of this the past 2 days!

YES, LORD

posted by H2O PERRY CAMPUS at  21:30 ||

Two words in the Christian's language cannot go together: "No, Lord."  If  you say, "No," He is not Lord.  If He really is your Lord, your answer must always be "Yes!"   That's where Tina and I stand not only with this church plant in Perry, but in life as a whole.  It took both of us, but in particular me, a long time to find God and to understand what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus.  When we both "found" God about 4.5 years ago, we made a commitment to Him that our answer would always be "Yes."  Each step of our lives will now be based on saying "Yes" to Him and only Him no matter how crazy, foolish, and impractical it may seem to us or those around us.

We said "Yes" when He called us to volunteer and serve with all of our ...

BECOMING A DISCIPLE

posted by H2O PERRY CAMPUS at  15:08 ||

I have been rereading a great book entitled, "The One True Thing - What is Worthy of Your Lifelong Devotion?" by Howard Baker.  I was introduced to this book when Tina and served as Konnect leaders during the past school year at LifeChurch.tv.  Each time I read it, certain things jump out at me.  Last night, I was perusing through the book and I came to this paragraph:

There is one choice that I must make in order to enter this life: Who is going to lead my life?  That choice is between two masters - Jesus or me.  Am I going to be the master of my own destiny, to be the leader of my life, and the ruler of my kingdom?  Or, am I ready to give up the project of running my own life and admit that I need a new Master, Leader, and Teacher?  This is what ...
